Say yes to V-neck sweaters. Fall season is upon us. It’s time to show off your neck & décolleté. However, if you’re concerned about uneven skin tone, discoloration, or age spots in this area, tries a new skin care regimen.
Topical Vitamin C is a natural skin brightener. It is an antioxidant that works to fight off free radical damage that breaks down collagen. Vitamin C and E combined in our Super C Serum, work synergistically by trapping free radicals and removing them from the cell. Vitamin C can be used alone or in combination with other products for maximum results.
The combination of Vitamin A (Retinol) & hydroquinone has been used for years to help improve the décolleté area. Together, Retinol works to improve the penetration of the hydroquinone. Although hydroquinone remains the gold standard of lightening treatments, it has received some bad press about possible dangerous side effects. Nonetheless, it is still one of the most popular skin lightening ingredients used today. For best results combine Retinol with hydroquinone at night to improve both collagen & elastin production as well as reduce pigmentation.
As an alternative to hydroquinone, try mixing Lumixyl™ with Retinol. Lumixyl™ is a skin brightening peptide that is non-irritating or allergenic, non-toxic and is safe for prolonged use. Additionally, Lumixyl™ is effective for all skin types and will not increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Most clients report a visible improvement in about three weeks.
If three weeks is longer than you’re willing to wait, try an in-office chemical peel treatment. Chemical peels still remain the most cost effective way to treat many skin conditions including pigmentation disorders. However, strong peels are contraindicated for darker skin types. Alternatively, these patients could be treated with enzyme peels instead.
After cleansing and toning, follow steps one and two below twice a day. Be sure to follow your morning regimen with a good sunblock that protects against both UVA and UVB damage. Add step three only in the evening. Step four can be used periodically for additional exfoliation.
